ARENA-PAC Signed an Agreement to Enhance Collaboration on the Development of 100Gbps Research and Education Network for Malaysia

On 17 September 2024, the Arterial Research and Education Network Asia-Pacific (ARENA-PAC) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) have signed a groundbreaking agreement to collaborate on the development of a 100Gbps Research and Education Network for Malaysia. This partnership aims to revolutionize high-speed connectivity for academic and research institutions across the country, with potential benefits extending to the broader Asia-Pacific region.

The collaboration will focus on:

  1. Implementing cutting-edge 100Gbps network infrastructure in Malaysia
  2. Fostering joint research initiatives in network technologies
  3. Enhancing data-intensive research capabilities for Malaysian institutions
  4. Promoting knowledge sharing and capacity building among member institutions

“This partnership with ARENA-PAC marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s commitment to advancing research and education through technology,” said Professor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohamed, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia. “The 100Gbps network will provide our researchers and students with unprecedented access to global resources and collaboration opportunities, positioning Malaysia at the forefront of academic innovation.”

The100 Gbps research and education network is expected to:
